An exchange project between Wits School of Arts and HEAD (Geneva).
There will be 2 sessions of presentations/work/conversations presented by the artists involved in the exchange, in New Wits Substation, Johannesburg, South-Afrika.

Poetics of Relation is an exchange and collaboration between London/Geneva based Swiss artist Uriel Orlow and Johannesburg based curator and writer Bettina Malcomess, who will work together with 16 artists and postgraduate students at HEAD - University of the Arts, Geneva, and the Division of Visual Arts at the Wits School of Arts at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.

The exchange takes Edouard Glissant’s Poetics of Relation as a starting point to think through and work with the aesthetics and politics of movement, exchange as well as relational and errant forms of identity. The project will explore transformative modes of history, multi-directional memory, creolisation, translation and nomadism.
